It requires either an orthopedic, plastics, or general surgical background followed by an ACGME accredited fellowship. Once these are completed there is an examination administered by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Yalif has completed all of the above requirements and is Certified in the Sub-Specialty of Surgery of the Hand.

Conditions that Dr. Yalif can treat include:

• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or other nerve compression syndromes.
• Arthritis – both surgical and non-surgical options are available.
• Trauma, including fractures, or broken bones, tendon injuries, etc – from the fingers to the forearm there are several options available and Dr. Yalif is well versed in them all.
• Tendonitis and/or trigger fingers.
• Dupuytren’s disease or nodules or cords in your hands – both surgical and non-surgical options are available.
• Congenital conditions of the hand.
