Present Your Best Self
Today more than ever, people are always "on"—whether you're meeting with clients, attending events or vacationing— a camera is never far away. However, the sun, getting older, genetics, gravity, stress, and other environmental variables can all cause premature aging and other changes to sensitive facial skin.
These factors can cause even the healthiest person's skin to age prematurely and look tired even if they maintain a strict beauty regimen. People throughout the metro Atlanta area come to triple board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Asaf Yalif for Facelift surgery at his Atlanta or Alpharetta, GA, practice because they trust him to create the more youthful yet natural look they want. He minimizes wrinkles and fine lines, restores youthful contours, and tightens loose, sagging skin to take years off without apparent signs of surgery. A Facelift is a highly effective procedure combined with non-surgical facial rejuvenation, such as fillers.
Facelift surgeries, also known as rhytidectomy, are surgical procedures that enhance the facial appearance by removing extra skin and tightening the remaining skin and underlying tissue. This reduces wrinkles and sagging skin, giving the face a more youthful and revitalized appearance.
Improve Your Look & Confidence
Men and women often consider Rhytidectomy when they become concerned about signs of aging that make them look older than they feel. Our Atlanta Facelift patients often ask if they’re either too young or too old for a Facelift, but age isn’t really an important factor when determining who are good facelift candidates. Someone in their mid-40s who is thinking about a non-surgical treatment may be better off with the long-lasting results that a facelift produces.
You’re likely a good candidate for a Facelift if you:
Being in good overall health and a non-smoker are also prerequisites for a Facelift. Smokers not only experience more post-op complications than other patients but can also expect shorter-lived results.
Understanding Your Facelift Procedure
The difference between Facelift techniques used 10 to 15 years ago and those used today is significant. When performed by a highly qualified and experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Yalif, a Facelift can produce remarkable results and take several years off your appearance. Many types of Facelift techniques exist, including some that promise more than they can deliver. Dr. Yalif primarily uses a technique called a SMAS lift which he customizes based on each patient’s specific concerns. SMAS is short for the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, a layer of tissue and muscle just below the skin.
During your Facelift Atlanta patients will be put under general anesthesia. Dr. Yalif begins by making an incision at the temple, above the hairline. He then extends it along your skin’s natural crease in front of the ear, below the earlobe, and finishing behind the ear. The incision is virtually imperceptible after it heals. Dr. Yalif carefully exposes the SMAS layer, which he lifts, repositions, and tightens before re-draping the skin. He removes excess skin and then sutures the incisions, being careful to avoid a tight or “windswept” appearance. A SMAS lift minimizes the appearance of jowls and sagging in the mid-face. Dr. Yalif can also modify the procedure to tighten loose neck skin. The procedure typically takes about 4 hours.
Lift Your Expectations
Dr. Yalif combines the skill of a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon with a warm bedside manner that puts patients at ease from the moment they meet him. He leads a small team of dedicated professionals at our boutique practice, where you'll be treated as a member of the Y Plastic Surgery family.
You’ll return home on the day of the surgery after spending time in the recovery room. Dr. Yalif places a dressing on the surgical site that remains until the initial follow-up appointment.
He provides detailed post-op instructions that help you recover with as little discomfort as possible. Swelling and bruising may last for up to two weeks after the surgery, but you may be able to return to work earlier. The initial results of the Facelift can be seen after about three weeks, but the full results may take several more weeks to develop. If you’re planning to get a Facelift before a significant social event, such as a wedding or class reunion, it’s best to schedule it at least a few months earlier to ensure you are completely healed.
Dr. Yalif will also provide advice to preserve your Facelift outcomes as long as feasible. Facelift surgeries and other cosmetic operations can improve your quality of life, self-esteem, and general health in a variety of ways, so don't wait to schedule a consultation to find out more.
Whether it is a facelift or a tummy tuck, we will want to maximize our results. Dr. Yalif knows that the best way to help your body through the surgery journey is with adjunctive skincare regimens. These recommendations will help maintain your results longer, refine scars, and achieve your desired aesthetic!
For face procedures, we recommend a pre-op retinoid, usually from the Environ line. Their multi-level retinoid system allows the escalation of the retinoid’s effect, usually without all the drying and itchiness usually associated with these types of products. Post-operatively, we recommend a combination of therapies aimed at keeping your skin youthful while allowing your incisions to fully heal with excellent support, essentially maintaining your results and improving the quality of your skin over time. These include Environ’s Skin Essentia line for both cleansing and moisturizing, followed by the Vita-peptide C-quence serum 2 – containing vitamins A, C, and E, along with hydrating and toning elements for your skin. We add the super moisturizer at night and the ISDIN SPF during the day to complete the recovery of your skin and enhance your results for years.
If you’ve had an eye procedure or just want a good recommendation for an eye cream, Dr. Y recommends the Environ Vita-peptide gel. It will help with puffiness, fine lines, crow’s feet, and more. Essentially it is an excellent product on its own and will augment any result you get if Dr. Y is doing a periorbital procedure too.
And don’t think we neglect your body! In addition to the recommendations above, we highly recommend The Derma-Lac lotion postoperatively to help exfoliate your skin and soften smooth and moisturize the treated areas to improve overall skin health. We also will add vitamin A, C, and E body oil to help the appearance of stretch marks, scarring, pigmentation, and dry skin. Our experts are happy to answer questions and make additional recommendations based on your particular needs.
The cost of a full Facelift performed by Dr. Yalif starts at $13,800. The starting cost of a mini Facelift is $8,500. In both cases, the costs include the relevant surgical and anesthesia fees. Prices may vary somewhat depending on the details of your procedure.
It’s fairly common to combine a Facelift with other surgical or non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. A Facelift only addresses the lower portion of the face, but signs of aging typically occur around the eyes and forehead at the same pace. Dr. Yalif can discuss all of your cosmetic concerns during the consultation and then recommend a comprehensive treatment plan, which may include combining your Facelift with:
Dr. Yalif may also suggest a regular schedule of periodic treatments to help maintain the results of your surgery.
