Triple board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Asaf Yalif can transform your profile with neck lift surgery in Woodstock, Alpharetta, or Roswell, GA, giving you a sleeker, slimmer look that is natural and youthful. A saggy “turkey neck” is the results of aging, genetics, and weight fluctuations. However, neck lift surgery, technically called or platysmaplasty, is an effective way to give women and men the sleek and slimmer profile they desire.
Dr. Yalif performs this procedure for patients with extraneous skin and wrinkles in the neck area, which can produce powerful results on its own. Results can be fully maximized by removing fat with neck liposuction and facelift surgery. All neck rejuvenation options can be explored during a consultation at one of our conveniently located offices serving Marietta and the greater Atlanta area.

How Is Neck Lift Surgery Performed?
Neck lift surgery is an outpatient procedure and is performed at an accredited surgical facility while the patient is under general anesthesia. The plastic surgeon will begin by making an incision under the chin, or in front of or behind the patient’s ears. When there’s abundant fat in the region, liposuction will be the first step of the surgery to remove this excess fat. The underlying neck muscles will then be pulled tight, and extraneous skin will be trimmed. Remaining skin will be re-draped for a tighter, smoother appearance. Stitches, or sutures, are placed deep in the neck wall, and the surgeon may also place a drain in the surgical site to control bleeding. The entire surgery typically lasts two hours.

How Long Does It Take to Recover From a Neck Lift?
Typically, patients are able to return to their normal routine around 7 to 10 days after the procedure. Following surgery, patients commonly experience some amount of bruising and swelling in the neck area. It’s also common for patients to have a sensation of tightness and pulling, which is a result of the neck adjusting to the new position. After a few months, patients should expect to see the full effects of the surgery with a tight, smoother, more contoured neck. There will be very minimal scarring, as incisions are placed in discreet places.
